Welcome to my teaching website!
This is my third year here at Riverside, and I can honestly say that this has become a second home for me. I am grateful to all of my colleagues, administration, and of course my students for choosing their attitude every day. I love teaching and am blessed to be in this profession!
I grew up in Creedmoor, NC--not far from here at all--and I enjoy reading, writing fiction, running, and training jiujitsu. I went to UNC Chapel Hill for my Bachelor's and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in English with Honors and Hispanic Linguistics with a minor in Education. I then went on to Duke for my Master's of Arts in Teaching and was lucky enough to receive the Durham Teaching Fellowship. I graduated in June of 2017 and jumped right into Riverside in August 2017. It has been a roller coaster ride so far with teaching, but I love my students and am always open to feedback on how to improve their learning experience.
I hold official tutoring every Tuesday and Wednesday during Smart Lunch, but I am also available by appointment other days of the week and in the morning.
Parents, students--please always feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Thank you so much, and Roll Pirates Roll!
Best,
Kirsten Steele
